Virgin Sport has been acquired by LimeLight Sports Group, a market-leading mass participation sports events company which celebrated its 30th anniversary this summer.
This means that LimeLight Sports Club, which is part of the LimeLight Sports Group, will take over three major events which were previously run by Virgin Sport – the Asics London 10k, Oxford Half Marathon and Hackney Half Marathon. In the future, these events will run under the LimeLight brand, but the event concepts will remain the same.
We are certain that many of you will have previously participated in one or more events the LimeLight Sports Group have managed in the past, which include the Royal Parks Half Marathon, Swimathon, Blenheim and London Triathlons and the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge.
We are extremely proud of all that Virgin Sport has achieved over the last five years. Incubated from within the Virgin Group, it has become known for its inclusive and entertaining athletic events, and we couldn’t have achieved this without our incredible customers and partners. We believe that the LimeLight Sports Club will be a great home for the evolution of the concept the Virgin Group has developed, and we’re excited about the next chapter.
The Virgin Group remains firmly committed to health and wellness, with Virgin Active –one of the world’s leading health club businesses and Virgin Pulse – one of the world’s largest technology-driven wellbeing software provider.
We will keep you updated in the comings weeks, and if you have any questions in the meantime, then please don’t hesitate to contact email@example.com.
LimeLight Sports Club is a specialist division within LimeLight Sports Group specifically set up to create and deliver major participation campaigns and to provide a unique, high quality service for the consumers looking to get the very best value and experience from their sporting journeys.
Aligned to the group's vision – Creating an Active World. Together – LimeLight Sports Club and our brand partners share a belief that when people of all ages and abilities come together and participate in any kind of group exercise, the benefits can be immense, both for individuals and for society as a whole.
We hope you are safe and well during this challenging time. We would like to thank you for your patience in recent weeks whilst we have worked hard to confirm the status of our 2020 events.
Given the current restrictions on mass gatherings and the social distancing measures which are likely to be in place for some time to come, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone the Hackney Half, the ASICS London 10K and the Oxford Half to 2021.
